The aquarium has 3 more yellow fish than green fish.

60% of the fish are yellow.

To find:

How many green fish are in the aquarium?

Step-by-step explanation:

Let there be x number of fish in the aquarium.

60% of the fish are yellow.

So there are 60x/100 = 3x/5 yellow fish.

Then (100 - 60)% = 40% fish are green.

So there are 40x/100 = 2x/5 green fish.

Given that, there are 3 more yellow fish than green fish

⇒ 3x/5 = 2x/5 + 3

⇒ 3x/5 = (2x + 15)/5

⇒ 3x = 2x + 15

⇒ 3x - 2x = 15

⇒ x = 15

Now, 2x/5 = 2/5 × 15 = 2 × 4 = 6

Answer:

There are 6 green fish in the aquarium.

Prove 2/sqrt3cosx+sinx=sec(pi/6-x)
dlinn [17]

Thus L.H.S = R.H.S that is 2/√3cosx + sinx = sec(Π/6-x) is proved

We have to prove that

2/√3cosx + sinx = sec(Π/6-x)

To prove this we will solve the right-hand side of the equation which is

R.H.S = sec(Π/6-x)

          = 1/cos(Π/6-x)

[As secƟ = 1/cosƟ)

           = 1/[cos Π/6cosx + sin Π/6sinx]

[As cos (X-Y) = cosXcosY + sinXsinY , which is a trigonometry identity where X = Π/6 and Y = x]

           = 1/[√3/2cosx + 1/2sinx]

            = 1/(√3cosx + sinx]/2

            = 2/√3cosx + sinx

    R.H.S = L.H.S

Hence 2/√3cosx + sinx = sec(Π/6-x) is proved

Akira and her puppy are both dressing up as superheroes for Halloween this year. Akira needs 1 yard of cloth for her cape. She a
Ahat [919]

The feet of cloth that she should buy for the capes is 4 feet.

How many feet should she buy?

The mathematical operations that would be used to determine the answer are addition and multiplication.

Addition is the process of summing two or more numbers together. Multiplication is the process of determining the product of two or more numbers.

The first step is to convert yard to feet

According to the unit of conversion : 1 yard = 3 feet

1 x 3 = 3 feet

The second step is to add the feet needed for Akira's cape with the foot needed for the puppy's cape

Total feet needed = 3 + 1 = 4 feet
