The points that lie on the line are C(-4, 1), E(-6, 6) and  I(2, 4)

Given the equation of a line expressed as y=\frac{1}{2}x + 3

We need to find which of the points from A to J lies on the line.

To do that, we will substitute the x-coordinate point into the equation to see if we are going to get the y-coordinate

For the coordinate C(-4, 1)

when x = -4

y = 1/2(-4) + 3

y = -2 + 3

y = 1

This shows that the point C(-4, 1) is on the line

For the point E(6, 6)

when x = 6

y = 1/2(6) + 3

y = 3 + 3

y = 6

This shows that the point E(-6, 6) is on the line

For the point I (2, 4)

when x = 2

y = 1/2(2) + 3

y = 1 + 3

y = 4

This shows that the point I(2, 4) is on the line

This shows that the points that lie on the line are C(-4, 1), E(-6, 6) and  I(2, 4)

grin007 [14]
Well, the length of the shoe box is 20 centimeters and the width is 10. So, 20-10=10 centimeters and sense there's 10 millimeters in a centimeter, you take 10x10= 100 millimeters longer.

Which of the following is an equation of the line through (2, 3) and (−1, −12)?
tino4ka555 [31]

First, we have two points and we need to use these points to find the slope. To do this, let's label one point x1 and y1, the other point x2 and y2 then,

Slope = (y2 - y1) / (x2 - x1)

(2, 3) - 2 is x1 and 3 is y1

(-1, -12) -1 is x2 and -12 is y2

Slope = (-12 - 3) / ( -1 - 2) = -15 / -3 = 5

Now the equation of our line is: y = 5x + b

Let's plug one of our points into this equation to solve for b.

3 = 5(2) + b

3 = 10 + b

Subtract 10 from both sides.

-7 = b

The equation of our line is: y = 5x - 7
