Answer:

The boron has three valence electrons.

Explanation:

How to determine the valence électrons of Borom atom.

There are four simple steps to find out the valence electrons for borom atom wich are :

Step 1 : Find the Atomic Number

To find the atomic number of boron, we can use the periodic table. With the help of periodic table, we can easily see that the atomic number of boron is 5. As its atomic number is 5, it has five protons, and for neutral boron, the number of protons are always equal to the number of electrons i.e. has five electrons in its nucleus.

Step 2 : Write Electron

Electron configuration is the arrangement of electrons on the orbitals.

The électrons will be places in different orbitale according to thé energy level : [1s, 2s, 2p, 3p, 4s, 3d, 4p, 5s, 4d, 5p, 6s, 4f, 5d, 6p, 7s, 5f].

Now, Boron,Electron configuration B(5) = 1s^22s^22p^1 (complete configuration).

=[He] 2s^2 2p^1 (condensed configuration).

Step 3 : Determine Valence Shell

As we know, the valence shell of an atom can be found from thé highest number of principle quantum numbers which are expressed in thé term of n, and in [He] 2s^2 2p^1

Step 4 : Fond Valence Electrons

The total number of electroons présent in valence shell of an atom are called valence electrons, and there are three électrons présent in thé valence shell of boron (2s^2 2p^1).

boron will be has a total of five electrons so, we have to put 5 electrons in o

Thus, the boron has three valence electrons.

Note : Be careful, however, not to forget the difference between Valencia Electrons and Valency.

Difference Between Valence Electrons and Valency

Valence electrons are the total number of electrons present in the outermost shell of an atom(i.e. in outermost or ital). The valence electrons for a neutral atom is always definite, it cannot be varied(more or less) in any condition for a particular atom and may or may not be equal to its valency.

Thank to all.

How does the electron-cloud model describe electrons?
Sav [38]

Answer:

C. An electron has a high probability of being in certain regions.

Explanation:

In the electron cloud model, there are no electron-orbits around the nucleus but a cloud. This cloud has various densities with respect to distance from the nucleus. The most dense region of the cloud (which is the region close to the nucleus) is where electrons has the highest probability of existence.

The model explains that an electron a greater chance of being in the region closer to the nucleus. Thus, an electron has a high probability of being in certain region of the cloud about the central nucleus. And an electrostatic force exists between the nucleus and the electrons.

Why are there more fossils of marine organism than of land organisms o dc
MatroZZZ [7]

Answer:

Three primary reasons. First, there is simply more water-covered places than dry ground places for the animals and plants to have lived. Second, the seas are much more crowded with the kinds of life that leave fossils than the land is. Third, the process that form fossils work very well under water.

A sample of magnesium oxide has a mass of 94.4 g. How many molecules
ella [17]

Answer: 1.414x10^24 molecules in 94.4g MgO

Explanation: molar mass MgO 40.204

molecules in 40.204 g MgO = avogadro number

molecules in 94.4 g MgO = (94.4/40.204)*avogadro number

(94.4/40.204)*6.02214076*10^23 = 14.14x10^23
