Vertex of the quadratic equation is the highest or the lowest point of the quadratic equation.

<h3>Given-</h3>

The given equation in the question is,

f(x) = x^2 - x +2

<h3>Vertex of the quadratic equation</h3>

Vertex of the quadratic equation is the highest or the lowest point of the quadratic equation.

To find the vertex of the equation we need to compare the given equation with the following equation.

f(x)=a(x-h)^2+k

Here h and k are the vertex of the equation.

The given equation is,

f(x) = x^2 - x +2

Rewrite the equation,

f(x) = x^2 - x +(\dfrac{1}2)^2} +2-(\dfrac{1}2)^2}

f(x) = x^2 - x +\dfrac{1}{4} +2-\dfrac{1}4}

f(x) =(x-\dfrac{1}{2} )(x-\dfrac{1}{2} )+2-\dfrac{1}{4}

f(x) =(x-\dfrac{1}{2} )^2+\dfrac{7}{4}

Thus the vertex of the quadratic equation is 1/2 and 7/4.

Calculate the total amount and compound interest on RS 8,000 for a year at the rate of 9% per annum compounded half yearly.
Gennadij [26K]

Answer:

See below in bold.

Step-by-step explanation:

Total  = A(1 + r/n)^nt   where A = initial amount , t = number of years, r = the rate (as a decimal fraction) and  n = number of payments a year. So:

Total after 1 year =  8000(1 + 0.09/2) ^ 1*2

= RS 8736.20.

Compound interest = RS 736.20

Fran deposited 4869 into a savings account that pays simple annual interest rate of 3.25% how much interest will she earn after
Whitepunk [10]

Answer:

$395.61

Step-by-step explanation:

The formula for simple interest is:

i=Prt

Where

i is the interest amount

P is the principal amount

r is the rate of interest per time period

t is the time period

Here,

P = 4869

we want to find after 30 months, that converted to years is:

30/12 = 2.5 years

t = 2.5

The annual rate is 3.25% = 0.0325

Now, substituting, we find our answer:

i=Prt\\i=(4869)(0.0325)(2.5)\\i=395.61

The interest earned is <u>$395.61</u>
