Answer:

The numbers are 18 , 12

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the two numbers be x and y

The sum of the two numbers is 30.

⇒ x + y = 30 ---------------(I)

The difference of the two numbers is 6.

⇒ x - y = 6   --------------(II)

Add equations (I) and (II). Thus y will be eliminated and we can find the value of x

(I)   x + y = 30

(II)  x - y = 6    {Now add}

      2x   = 36

Divide both sides by 2

         x = 36/2

          x = 18

Plugin x = 18 in equation (I)

18 + y = 30

       y = 30 - 18

y = 12

Answer:

18, 12

Step-by-step explanation:

let us say one number is x and the other one is (x+6)

x+(x+6)=30

-6

x+x=24

2x=24

divide by two

x=12

(x(12)+6)=18

Consider a sample with six observations of 15, 16, 12, 8, 6, and 9. Compute the z-scores for each sample observation.
grin007 [14]

Answer:

1 ; 1.25 ; 0.25 ; - 0.75 ; - 1.25 ;- 0.5

Step-by-step explanation:

Given the sample observations : 15, 16, 12, 8, 6, 9

Zscore for each sample Observation :

Zscore = (x - mean) / standard deviation

(15 + 16 + 12 + 8 + 6 + 9) / 6 = 11

Mean value (m) = 11

Standard deviation (s) = 5

Sqrt[(x - m)^2 / (n - 1)]

[(15-11)^2 + (16-11)^2 + (12-11)^2 + (8-11)^2 + (6-11)^2 + (9-11)^2] / (6 - 1)

= 80/5 = 16

Sqrt(16) = 4

Zscore = (x - mean) / standard deviation

x = 15

Zscore = (15 - 11) / 4 = 1

x = 16

Zscore = (16 - 11) / 4 = 1.25

x = 12

Zscore = (12 - 11) / 4 = 0.25

x = 8

Zscore = (8 - 11) / 4 = - 0.75

x = 6

Zscore = (6 - 11) / 4 = - 1.25

x = 9

Zscore = (9 - 11) / 4 = - 0.5

The set M represents multiples of 4 from 6 to 38. M=8,12,16,20,24,28,32,36 The set N represents even numbers from 4 to 13. N=4,6
Tomtit [17]

Answer:

The correct option is B. 2

So there are two elements that is 8, 12 in the set M⋂N .

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

M is a set of multiples of 4 from 6 to 38

i.e M = { 8, 12, 16, 20, 24, 28, 32,36 }

N is a set of even numbers from 4 to 13

i.e N = { 4, 6, 8, 10, 12 }

To Find:

M⋂N  = ?

Solution:

Set:

A set is a well-defined collection of distinct objects, considered as an object in its own right.

Examples :

M is a set of multiples of 4 from 6 to 38

i.e M = { 8, 12, 16, 20, 24, 28, 32,36 }

N is a set of even numbers from 4 to 13

i.e N = { 4, 6, 8, 10, 12 }

M⋂N = set of those numbers which are present in M as well as in N

∴ M⋂N = { 8, 12 }

So there are two elements that is 8, 12 in the set M⋂N .
