<span>D IS YOUR ANSWER AND THIS IS HOW TO FIND IT!

Which best states how the narrator’s point of view helps the reader understand the excerpt?

A: The reader learns White Fang’s feelings without being distracted by the feelings of his mother.
Okay, this answer seems a little off. There seems to be feelings coming from a bit of everyone in this selection. From the pup, to the she-wolf, to the "man-animals." So this is incorrect.

B: The reader gains an understanding of White Fang through the thoughts and feelings of his mother.
While this one is convincing, I don't think that there is only one character's thoughts in this selection. So this is incorrect.

C: The reader can focus on the action in the excerpt without worrying about characters’ thoughts and feelings.
While the reader can focus on the action, you can almost feel the tension bleed from these words. You can sense the maturnal fear and protective instinct ooze from the she-wolf, just as you can feel the pups relief and the "human-animals'" hesitating fear, and caution throughout the excerpt. This is incorrect.

D: The reader gets to know both the thoughts and feelings of White Fang and those of his mother.
We do get thoughts from more than one character in this choice. SO this one is your answer.
