The reaction 2A → A2 was experimentally determined to be second order with a rate constant, k, equal to 0.0265 M–1min–1. If

the initial concentration of A was 2.00 M, what was the concentration of A (in M) after 180.0 min?

Answer:

0.19M

Explanation:

2A → A2

Rate constant = 0.0265 M–1min–1

Initial concentration = 2.00 M

Final Concentration = ?

time, t = 180min

The formular relating the parameters is given as;

1 / [A] = kt + 1 / [A]o

1 / [A] = 0.0265 * 180 + (1 / 2)

1 / [A] = 4.77 + 0.5

[A] = 1 / 5.27 = 0.19M

What type of mixture scatters light and cannot be filtered
AlladinOne [14]
Colloid is a type of mixture that scatters light and cannot be filtered. Colloids are heterogeneous mixtures with a particle size between that of the solutions and that of the suspensions: the size of the particles of a colloid is bigger than the molecules or ions of a solution and smaller than the particles of a suspension. Due to the small size of the particles in the colloids, the diluted colloids seem homogeneous, but those particles are big enough to produce the Tyndall effect, which is the dispersion of the light. Solutions do not show Tyndall effect.

Find ionic compounds
ella [17]

Answer:

1:1

Explanation:

The ratio of metal cationic atom to non-metal anionic atom in the compound is 1:1.

This is an ionic compound.

 • This is because metal cationic atom has two valence electrons.
 • Non-metal anionic oxygen has six valence electrons
 • Calcium loses two of its valence electrons to be isoelectronic with Ar and this confers a stable configuration to it.
 • Non-metal oxygen atom accepts the electrons and adds 2 to its 6 electrons to become isoelectronic with neon.
 • So, 1 metal cationic atom combines with 1 non-metal anionic atom to form the compound.
