Mathematics

Kay [80]2 years ago

Answer:

f(x) = -2x+5

f(x+h) = -2x -2h +5

g(x) = -4x-2

g(x+h) = -4x -4h -2

h(x) = 4x^2+1

h(x+h) = 4(x+h)^2 +1 = 4x^2 +8xh + 4h^2 +1

Q(x) = -3x^2 +4

Q(x+h) = -3(x+h)^2 +4 = -3x^2 -3h^2 -6xh + 4

Round 33.885 to the nearest 100th
maria [59]

Answer:

33.89

Step-by-step explanation:

How to Calculate Rounding to the Nearest 100th?

If the digit after hundredth is greater than or equal to 5, add 1 to hundredth. Else remove the digit. Example

124.586

The third digit of right of decimal point is 6

The second digit after decimal point is 8 which is greater than 5

So add 1 to 8

Result = 124.59

SOLVE EACH SYSTEM USING SUBSTITUTION
NNADVOKAT [17]
1. since the equations equal each other
2x+19=x+7
-x        -x
x+19=7
  -19  -19
x= -12
sub into y= x+7
y= -12+7
y= -5

2. x+2y=-7
<span>x+y+23=0
i don't know what the second equation is equal to, i'll assume 0

2y=x-7
y=1/2x-7/2
sub this into x+y+23=0
x+1/2x-7/2+23=0
3/2x+39/2=0
       -39/2   -39/2
3/2x= -39/2
x=-39/2 / 3/2
x= -13
sub into y=1/2x-7/2
y=1/2(-13)-7/2
y= -10

3. </span>x+5y=2
<span>x=-4y+5
</span>sub x=-4y+5 into x+5y=2
-4y+5+5y=2
y+5=2
  -5  -5
y= -3
sub y =-3 into x =-4y+5
x=-4(-3)+5
x= 17

4. 3x+y=9
<span>y=-5x+9
</span>sub -5x+9 into 3x+y=9
3x+(-5x+9)=9
3x-5x+9=9
-2x+9=9
     -9  -9
-2x=0
x=0
sub into y=-5x+9
y=-5(0)+9
y=9

A square with side x is changing with time where x(t)=3t+1. What is rate of change of the area of the square when t=2 seconds.
GuDViN [60]

Answer:

Rate of change of the area of the square is 42 units at t = 2.

Step-by-step explanation:

We note that the area of the square is given by: A(x) = x^2 but we aim to find \frac{dA}{dt}. But we can use the chain rule to pull out that dA/dt. Doing so gives us:

\frac{dA}{dt} = \frac{dA}{dx} \times \frac{dx}{dt}.

Now, \frac{dA}{dx} = 2x (by the power rule and \frac{dx}{dt} = 3.

But since we have "x" and not "t", we want to find what x is when t = 2. Substituting t = 2 gives us x(2) = 3(2) + 1 = 7.

So, finally, we see that:

\frac{dA}{dt} = 2(7) \times 3 = 14 \times 3 = 42.

Elena-2011 [213]

Answer:

5/20, 2/9, 21%, 8%

Step-by-step explanation:

2/9 = 0.22

21% = 0.21

5/20 = 0.25

8% = 0.08

0.25>0.22>0.21>0.08
