Gekata [30.6K]
Concentrated acids should be handled with extreme care since they are ultimately corrosive. They emit acidic mists that are harmful. I need an hypothisis on How does temperature change affect surface tension?
Dafna1 [17]

Hypothesis: I believe an increase in temperature would lead to a decrease in surface tension.

Here's why: As the temperature increases, the molecular interaction between the liquids molecules becomes weaker because the hydrogen bond is the main factor for association between two molecules. It is a very weak bond to begin with, so when the temperature increases, it just further weakens it.

Which statement best explains why the atmosphere is considered an open system?
katovenus [111]
The answer is B

An open system has its energy and matter leave and enter the system's boundaries unlike in a closed system where energy remains within the system.
The earth's atmosphere shares heat and water vapor with the hydrosphere (oceans, seas and lakes), energy form the sun, in the atmosphere and then partly radiated back to space

Approximately how many watts does a 50,000 gram human at rest generate from metabolic heat?
Alenkasestr [34]
An individual generates some 100 kilowatt hours of thermal and kinetic energy a year. Our daily calorie intake from food is re-released throughout the day – at any one time, we’re expending the energy equivalent of a 100 watt bulb – and this alternative energy source can be harnessed.
