Meg plotted the graph below to show the relationship between the temperature of her city and the number of sweaters sold at a st

ore: Main title on the graph is Sweater Sale. Graph shows 0 to 30 on x axis at increments of 5 and 0 to 12 on y axis at increments of 1. The label on the x axis is Temperature in degree C, and the label on the y axis is Number of Sweaters Sold. Dots are made at the ordered pairs 0, 12 and 2.5, 10 and 2.5, 11 and 5, 10 and 7.5, 9 and 7.5, 10 and 10, 7 and 12.5, 6 and 12.5, 8 and 15, 4 and 15, 7 and 17.5, 5 and 20, 1 and 20, 3 and 22.5, 9 and 25, 1 and 27.5, 1. Part A: In your own words, describe the relationship between the temperature of the city and the sale of sweaters in the city. Part B: Describe how you can make the line of best fit. Write the approximate slope and y-intercept of the line of best fit. Show your work, including the points that you use to calculate slope and y-intercept.

Part A: The points are falling from left to right in the graph in a linear pattern.

Part B: To make a line of best fit, you can use the points (5, 10) and (-7, 15). The slope between them is -7/15 which is about -1/2.

Looking at the graph, the approximate y-intercept of the graph would be about 13.

Therefore, a possible equation could be y = -0.5x + 13. Other equations are possible, if you select different points.

Solution:

The description about the graph is:

Part A:  The relationship between the temperature of the city and the sale of sweaters in the city can be found by drawing the line of best fit.

If you will draw line through , (12.5,6) and (15,4), it will best represent line of best fit, because most of points on same and opposite side of line are equidistant from each other.

Equation of line passing through two points, (x_{1},y_{1}),(x_{2},y_{2}) is ,\frac{y-y_{1}}{x-x_{1}}=\frac{(y_{2}-y_{1})}{(x_{2}-x_{1})}

Equation of line passing through (12.5,6) and (15,4) is given by

\frac{y-6}{x-12.5}=\frac{6-4}{12.5-15}\\\\ 2 x -25=-2.5 y+15\\\\ 2 x+2.5 y=40\\\\ 20 x+25 y=400\\\\ 4 x+5y=80

Part B: Description of line of best fit

A line of best is the line which passes through all or some points or only through a single point, which describes the relationship between x and y values of data set.The line passes through (12.5,6), (15,4),and (7,10) that is three points.

(C) 4 x + 5 y=80

5 y= - 4 x +80

y=\frac{-4x}{5}+16

Slope =\frac{-4}{5}, Y- intercept = 16

Find the angle between vector u=2i+sqrt(11)j and v=-3i-2j to the nearest degree
const2013 [10]

Answer: Last option 155°

Step-by-step explanation:

We have the components of the vectors u and v.

Then, to find the angle between them, perform the following steps:

1) Calculate the scalar product u * v

If u = 2i + \sqrt{11}j  and v = -3i-2j

Then, the product scalar u * v is:

u * v = (2)(-3) + (\sqrt{11})(-2)

u * v = -6-2\sqrt{11}

u * v = -12.633

2) Calculation of the magnitude of both vectors.

| u | = \sqrt{(2) ^ 2 + (\sqrt{11})^2}\\\\| u | = \sqrt{4+11}\\\\| u | = \sqrt{15}

| v | = \sqrt{(- 3) ^ 2 + (- 2) ^ 2}\\\\| v | = \sqrt{9 +4}\\\\| v | = \sqrt{13}

3) Now that you know the product point between the two vectors and the magnitude of each, then use the following formula to find an angle

u * v = | u || v |cos(\alpha)

-12.633 = \sqrt{15}\sqrt{13}*cos(\alpha)\\\\cos(\alpha) = \frac{-12.633}{\sqrt{15}\sqrt{13}}\\\\arcos(\frac{-12.633}{\sqrt{15}\sqrt{13}}) = \alpha\\\\\alpha =155\°

Determine whether the two triangles can be proven congruent using the AAS congruence method. If they can, select the congruence
Dmitry_Shevchenko [17]

Answer:

The A) ΔABC ≅ ΔEDC

Step-by-step explanation:

The AAS congruence method requires 2 angles and their un-included side to be congruent. ∠A ≅ ∠E due to the markings, ∠C ≅ ∠C because they are vertical angles, and AB ≅ ED due to the markings. 2 angles and their un-included side are congruent.

As for the congruence statement, A is the correct answer because ∠A ≅ ∠E, ∠B ≅ ∠D, and ∠C ≅ ∠C. The order of the naming of the triangles aligns to the angle's congruence.

A random telephone survey of 1,091 adults (aged 18 and older) was conducted by an online tax preparation and e-filing service. T
vovikov84 [41]

Answer:

a. The percentage of all taxpayers who file electronically is 58%

b. 654 people used an accountant or professional tax preparer preparing the tax return

Step-by-step explanation:

According to the given data, in order to estimate the percentage of all taxpayers who file electronically, we would have to make the following calculation:

percentage of all taxpayers who file electronically=<u>634×</u>100%=0.58

                                                                                    1,091

Hence, the percentage of all taxpayers who file electronically is 58%

In order to calculate how many people used an accountant or professional tax preparer for preparing the tax return, we would have to make the following calculation:

people used an accountant or professional tax preparer= <u>60%</u>×1,091=654

                                                                                                 100%

654 people used an accountant or professional tax preparer preparing the tax return.
