You've been asked to give a speech to your class. You're concerned that if you refuse the opportunity, you may feel disappointed

in yourself. However, you're also afraid that you'll be too nervous to speak in front of a large group. What are the positive and negative consequences of each choice? What decisions would you make? How could you manage the stress associated with whichever decision you made?

Public speaking is a very good skill to have. Although it may make you nervous, it’s good to get used to speaking out loud. However, if you pass the opportunity you may not get the benefit of the practice. The only advantage of missing out would be the peace of mind of talking out loud and getting nervous. Personally I am very shy when it comes to public speaking but I would still just though it out and get it over with. To manage the stress you can make it more fun by using humor. Also you can practice what your going to say to your friends and when u actually present just pretend they are ur friends as well :) hope it helps
