Approximately how long does the menstrual cycle last if fertilization does not take place?.

Medicine

A normal ovulation cycle lasts for about 24 hours each month. Once an egg is released from an ovary, it will die or dissolve within 12 to 24 hours if it's not fertilized. If fertilization doesn't occur, the egg and your uterine lining will shed. This results in menstrual bleeding about two weeks later.

When does a person experience greater thirst, during periods
pishuonlain [190]

Answer:

ADH (anti-diuretic hormone) also known as vasopressin released from the posterior pituitary. This hormone helps the kidney to absorb more water and maintains the water level.

The ADH maintains the thirst level and the maintenance of the absorption of the different ions in the body. When the level of the ADH hormone evoke out or elicited, the individual experiences the great thirst as body needs water for the maintenance of physiology.

What thermoregulatory mechanism is activated to normalize body temperature in the individual exposed to cold?
Anestetic [448]

Explanation:

The regulation of body temperature is one of the most critical functions of the nervous system. Here we review our current understanding of thermoregulation in mammals. We outline the molecules and cells that measure body temperature in the periphery, the neural pathways that communicate this information to the brain, and the central circuits that coordinate the homeostatic response. We also discuss some of the key unresolved questions in this field, including: the role of temperature sensing in the brain; the molecular identity of the warm-sensor; the central representation of the labelled line for cold; and the neural substrates of thermoregulatory behavior. We suggest that approaches for molecularly-defined circuit analysis will provide new insight into these questions in the near future.
