It is a technique of psychoanalysis in which  the client says whatever comes to mind at the moment.

It is the method of discovering the true feelings or thoughts of  patients by analyzing the random thoughts that goes through the mind.

The practice involved the therapist given an ideal or image that lack context to the patients and seek for his or her opinion. The first set of words  that the patients says  is what comes to mind. This helps the therapist to know how prompt the patient  is to the idea. And therefore the genuine thoughts or feelings.

The expert uses the response to discern the unconscious  mind of the patient by analyzing how  the brain of the patients  makes connection between ideas.
