There is a theorem in geometry that deals with problem's question.
<em>Theorem:</em>
<em>In a triangle, a segment whose endpoints are midpoints of two sides is parallel to and half the length of the third side.</em>
In this triangle, you are shown that each side is made up of two congruent segments. That makes points J, L, and K midpoints of the three sides of the triangle.
Look at midpoints L and K. They are midpoints of sides YZ and XZ. Join them with segment KL. That segment is parallel to the third side of the triangle, side XY, and half of its length.
