259 children and 322 adults swam at the public pool that day

<h3>Equation</h3>

Equation is an expression which is used to show the relationship between two or more variables and numbers.

Let x represent the number of children and let y be the number of adults.

581 people used the public swimming pool. Hence:

  • x + y = 581   (1)

The receipts for admission totaled $1048.25. Hence:

  • 1.25x + 2.25y = 1048.25    (2)

Solving equations 1 and 2 simultaneously gives:

x = 259, y = 322

259 children and 322 adults swam at the public pool that day

Artemon [7]

Answer:

B: This relationship is not a function because more than one amount of plant food remains each day

Step-by-step explanation:

It is given that Ryan did an experiment by observing the effects of plant food and the growth of the sprouting bean plant. He made a note of the height of the bean plant and the amount of food remaining in the container for the plant after feeding each day.

Thus he observed that the plant food in the container decreases by an equal amount everyday as the bean plant grew. Thus this states that it is not a  function between the two as there are more than one plant food remaining each day for the plant.

A relationship is a function when one element belongs to one thing.

Solve the following system of equations by the substitution method.
Dahasolnce [82]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

5x=y+6   --------- equ 1

2x-3y=4  -------- equ 2

5x - 6 = y

y = 5x - 6

substitute in equ 2

2x-3(5x - 6) =4

2x - 3*5x + 3*6 = 4

2x - 15x + 18 = 4

- 13x = 4 - 18

-13x = -14

x = -14/-13

x = 14/13

substitute  in equ 1

5*14/13 = y+6

70/13 - 6 = y

y =  ( 70 - 78)/13

y = -8/13

Answers:

  • sin(C) = 24/25
  • cos(Z) = 5/13

=============================================

Explanation:

The formulas we use are

  • sin(angle) = opposite/hypotenuse
  • cos(angle) = adjacent/hypotenuse

The fraction 15/39 reduces to 5/13 after dividing both parts by the GCF 3.
