Answer:

width = 2 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

are of rectangle is equal to length times width

x is the width, then length is 3x + 4

so x(3x + 4) = 20

3x^2 + 4x = 20

3x^2 + 4x - 20 = 0

The formula to solve a quadratic equation of the form ax^2 + bx + c = 0 is equal to x = [-b +/-√(b^2 - 4ac)]/2a

so a = 3

    b = 4

    c = -20

substitute in the formula

x = [-4 +/-√(4^2 - 4(3)(-20))]/2(3)

x = [-4 +/- √(16 + 240)]/6

x = [-4 +/- 16]/6

x1 = (-4 + 16)/6 = 2

x2 = (-4 - 16)/6 = -20/6

since the width can't be a negative number, x2 is not the right answer

so x = 2

Find the surface area please. teacher checks soon
Nat2105 [25]

Answer:

Surface Area= 144

Step-by-step explanation:

To find the area of the triangle you would multiply the base times the height and divide it by 2. 9x6/2=27. For one triangle the area is 27. Since there are 4 you would multiply it by 4. 27x4= 108. This will give you 108. Now all you need to do is add the square which is 6x6= 36. 108+36=144.

Help with this short answer.
timurjin [86]

Start by solving inside the parentheses. According to PEMDAS you will divide 10 and 2 first. Divide 10 by 2 and you will have: 8 + (5)(4) - (6 + 5) + 44.

Now finish solving inside the parentheses and add 6 and 5.

8 + (5)(4) - (11) + 44, multiply 5 and 4.

8 + 20 - 11 + 44, then solve from left to right.

61 is the answer.

What is the measure of angle TRV?

20°
50°
60°
130°
kari74 [83]
130
srv is a straight line so angleSRV=180
TRV and SRT make up SRV so TRV + SRT = SRV.
(x-10) + (2x+10) = 180.
the 10s cancel each other out so 3x = 180
so x=60 bc 180/3=60. sub 60 for x in TRV and u get 130. sub 60 for x in SRT and you get 50, which, with 130 makes 180, so the answer is correct!

Does it matter which coordinate is (x1,y1) and (x2,y2) or can I just choose which coordinate I want it to be?
zubka84 [21]

Answer:

Technically not on a graph but on a table yes it matter but here if I were you I would do (2,2) and (-1,-4)

Step-by-step explanation:   y=mx+b

(2,2) and (-1,-4)                  2=2(2)+b                     Answer is: y=2x+(-2)

x1 y1         x2 y2                2=4+b

-4-2=-6                           -2=b

-1-2=-3                    y-intercept

m=2
