The ingestion of a meal high in fat content would cause which of the following to occur? A) Severe indigestion would occur, caus
Anastaziya [24]

Answer:

The correct option is C.

Explanation:

The digestion of food molecules in human involve many enzymes and other chemical factors; bile is one of the factors. Bile is a greenish fluid produced by the liver. After production in the liver, it is transported to the gall bladder for storage until it is needed. The major function of bile is to emulsify fat, that is, to break down fat into smaller droplets, which can easily be handled by lipases. Lipases are enzymes that digest fatty acids and bile help their functioning by increasing the surface area of the fatty molecules.

Thus, if a man consume food that is high in fat content, bile will automatically be released from the gall bladder to break down the fat molecules.

Apart from helping in the digestion process of fat, bile also helps in removing certain waste products from the body, for example excess cholesterol.
