It is 12... 20-8 = 12... u do that cuz the slope of the two points is 0.. so it is a horizontal line and you don't have to use the formula.... u just subtract the x values.

The distance formula of an equation would be the square root of x2 - x1 + y2 - y1 however you have the same y values meaning you find the distance by subtracting the xs!

You get 12 units!

Archimedes knew that at 7 AM, the sunlight reaches the ground at an angle of 31, degrees. The rock beside which he slept was 5 m
evablogger [386]

Answer: Archimedes go to sleep at 8.32 metres away from the rock.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that the rock beside which he slept was 5 meters tall

Height h = 5m

Angle Ø = 31 degree

To get distance x away from the rock, we will use trigonometry function. SohCahToa

TanØ = opposite/adjacent

Tan 31 = 5/x

x = 5/tan31

x = 8.32m

Find the following, giving your answers to 1 decimal place?
sweet [91]

Answer:

I. Volume = 301.6 cm³ (to 1d.p)

II. CSA = 188.5 cm² (to 1d.p)

Step-by-step explanation:

<u>Given the following data;</u>

Height, h = 8cm

Radius, r = 6cm

Curved length = 10cm

a. To find the volume of the cone

V = \frac{1}{3} \pi r^{2}h

Where;

  • V is the volume of the cone.
  • r is the radius of the base of the cone.
  • h is the height of the cone.

Substituting into the equation, we have;

Volume = \frac{1}{3} * 3.142*6^{2}*8

Volume = \frac{1}{3} * 3.142*36*8

Volume = 3.142*12*8

<em>Volume = 301.6 cm³</em><em> </em>(to 1d.p)

b. The curved surface area of the cone

CSA = \pi rl

Where;

  • CSA is the curved surface area of the cone.
  • r is the radius of the base of the cone.
  • l is the curved length of the cone.

Substituting into the equation, we have;

CSA = 3.142*6*10

<em>CSA = 188.5 cm²</em> (to 1d.p)

Simplify. 5(22 - 9 · 2) - 2( 3 · 2 4) 7 <br> a.-99 <br> b.-83 <br> c.-75 <br> d.-71
Pachacha [2.7K]
Not completely sure on the symbols, but I think it is 5 x ( 22 - 9 x 2 ) - 2 ( 3 x 2 x 4 ) x 7 = 136. It doesn't really match the answers, so my advice is that you use a calculator for this one, or as the person/teacher who gave you the problem how to solve it.
