Answer:

The value of x, y and z is 5, 15 and 30 respectively.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the first number be x, second number be y and third number be z

Here, The sum of three numbers is 50

x + y + z = 50 ...(1)

The second number is three times the first number

y = 3x ...(2)

The third number is twice the second number

z = 2y ...(3)

Here, we know that y = 3x from equation (2). So, put this value in equation (3)

z = 2y

z = 2(3x)

z = 6x ...(4)

Here, y = 3x and z = 6x then put this in equation (1)

x + y + z = 50

x + 3x + 6x = 50

10x = 50

10x/10 = 50/10

x = 5

Here, The value of x is 5

So,

y = 3x

y = 3(5) = 15

z = 6x = 6(5) = 30

Thus, The value of x, y and z is 5, 15 and 30 respectively.

For Verification;

x + y + z = 50

5 + 15 + 30 = 50

50 = 50

L.H.S = R.H.S

Hence Verified!

The hyperbola with center at (4, 5), with vertices at (0, 5) and (8, 5), with b = 2.
galina1969 [7]
The standard form of hyperbola is:
(x-h)²/a²-(y-k)²/b²=1
center:(4,5)
Length of the horizontal transverse axis: 8-5=3=2a
thus
a=3/2
a²=9/4
b=2
b²=4

Hence the equation will be:
(x-4)²/(9/4)-(y-5)²/4=1
simplifying this we get:
[4(x-4)²]/9-(y-5)²/4=1

Estimate by rounding each number to the nearest hundredth and then subtract 360.727 - 89.852
kykrilka [37]
Hi there!

The correct answer for you is 270.88.

To round to the hundreth's place (.01), you need to take the number in the thousand's place (.001), and determine if the number needs to go up or down.

If the number in the thousand's place is greater than 4, then the number goes up.

360.727 --> This means that the hundreth's number goes up to 3.

If the number in the thousand's place is lesser than 5, then that number stays the same.

89.852 --> This means that the hundreth's number stays the same.

After you round, then just subtract:

360.73 - 89.85 = 270.88.

I hope this helps!

The tires on your bicycle have a radius of 8 inches. How many rotations does each tire make when you travel 700 feet? Round your
Inessa [10]
"One rotation" would be the circumference of the wheel, which is

C = 2*pi*r, or  (here)  C = 2*pi*(8 inches) = 16*pi inches.

                                                                       1 ft
Convert this to feet: 16*pi inches times ---------------
                                                                   12 inches

Here "inches" cancels out and you are left with (4/3)pi ft.

So, one rotation of the wheel moves you and your bike forward (4/3)pi ft.

Divide this into 700 feet:

700 ft            2100
------------- = --------- rotations = 525 rotations (answer)
(4/3) pi ft        4

Someone, please help! I'm really confused
11111nata11111 [884]

The correct pair is option E, which is:

FH ≅ FH - reflexive property

ΔGFH ≅ ΔEFH - SAS theorem

What is the SAS Congruence Theorem?

The SAS theorems states that two triangles are congruent if they have two pairs of congruent sides and a pair of congruent included angles.

What is the Reflexive Property?

The reflexive property of geometry states that an angle or line will always be congruent to itself.

In the two column-proof, since FH = FH using the reflexive property, then both triangles are congruent to each other by the SAS congruence theorem.

The missing pair of reasons that completes the proof are:

FH ≅ FH - reflexive property

ΔGFH ≅ ΔEFH - SAS theorem

Andre is setting up rectangle tables for a party. He can fit 6 chairs around a single table. Andre lined up 10 tables end to end
IRINA_888 [86]
If there is one table (t=1) then 6 chairs (c=6) can be placed around the table, 2 along the length on each side and 1 at each end.
When t=2, and the tables are end to end (joined at their width) c=10, that is, 4 chairs on each side of the double table and 1 at each end. Each time a table is added c increases by 4 so we can write c=4t+2 the constant 2 being the single chair at each end. If the tables are separated then c=6t.
