Answer:The strategy for the United States was to surround the territory of the South in the Anaconda Plan, blockading the Atlantic Ocean and controlling the Mississippi, to keep goods from going into or out of the South and forcing them to surrender.

Explanation:

The major battles fought in the Eastern Theater of the Civil War included the Battle of Bull Run at Manassas, the Battle of Antietam, and the great Battle of Gettysburg. The Western Theater of the Civil War comprised of the area west of the Appalachians and east of the Mississippi River.

It had to destroy the South's capacity and will to resist — a formidable challenge in any war. Southerners enjoyed the initial advantage of morale: The South was fighting to maintain its way of life, whereas the North was fighting to maintain a union.

What were the goals of each side as the war began? The goals of the North were to get the South back into the Union. The goals of the South were to keep their ways and slavery and independence.

To what extent did African Americans come closer to full citizenship and true freedom during reconstruction
Lyrx [107]

Answer:

Reconstruction was a time of great change througout the south for both freed slaves and plantation owners. Laws were put into place to protect and ensure freeoms of freed slaves. The 13th, 14th and 15th amendment allowed freedoms to slaves that never existed before. While these amendments grated them freedoms and the right to vote some states found ways to still limite freed slaves. Southern states inacted laws like Jim Crow laws that placed limits on their rights and made registering to vote difficult. Some slaves were able to open their own business and obtain an education. While there were great strides made many were still locked into their old way of life, struggling to get ahead, and working as tenant farmers in poor conditions. Freedom came in different forms during this time, which changed with time.

which territory became an independent country and was not a u.s. acquisition during the period of american imperialism in the 18
luda_lava [24]

The territory that became an independent country and was not a U.S. acquisition during American imperialism in the 1890s is Cuba.

In the 1890s, the Island region known as Cuba was under Spanish rule until the Spanish-American war.

Following the Spanish-American war in 1898, when the United States defeated Spain, the Spanish government ceded the Cuba territory to the United States under the Treaty of Paris.

However, by 1902, Cuba became independent, which made the island to be removed from the United States acquisition during the period of American imperialism in the 1890s.

Hence, in this case, it is concluded that the correct answer is Cuba.
