Answer:

1. Linear

2. Nonlinear

3. Linear

4. Linear

5. Nonlinear

Step-by-step explanation:

Thies equation are in the form y=mx+b. Where m is the slope and b is the y-intercept. To solve them you neeed to see the power x is taken to. If the power on x is bigger than 1 than one, then it will curve at some point. This makes 2 and 5 nonlinear

First integer = x

Second integer = x + 2

Third integer = x + 4

Since four times the first integer equals six more than the product of two and the third integer.

=> 4x = 6 + 2(x + 4)

=> 4x = 6 + 2x + 8

=> 2x = 14

=> x = 7.

Hence,

First integer = x = 7

Second integer = x + 2 = 7 + 2 = 9

The speeds of vehicles on a highway with speed limit 100 km/h are normally distributed with mean 114 km/h and standard deviation
Mkey [24]

Answer:

a) P(X

And we can find this probabiliy using the normal standard table or excel and we got:

P(z

So then we expect about 4%

b) P(X>125)=P(\frac{X-\mu}{\sigma}>\frac{125-\mu}{\sigma})=P(Z>\frac{125-114}{8})=P(z>1.375)

And we can find this probabiliy using the complement rule and the normal standard table or excel and we got:

P(z>1.375)=1-P(Z

So then we expect about 8.5%

Step-by-step explanation:

Part a

Let X the random variable that represent the speeds of vehicles, and for this case we know the distribution for X is given by:

X \sim N(114,8)

Where \mu=114 and \sigma=8

We want to find this probability  (legal speed)

P(X

We can use the z score given by:

z=\frac{x-\mu}{\sigma}

If we apply this formula to our probability we got this:

P(X

And we can find this probabiliy using the normal standard table or excel and we got:

P(z

So then we expect about 4%

Part b

P(X>125)=P(\frac{X-\mu}{\sigma}>\frac{125-\mu}{\sigma})=P(Z>\frac{125-114}{8})=P(z>1.375)

And we can find this probabiliy using the complement rule and the normal standard table or excel and we got:

P(z>1.375)=1-P(Z

So then we expect about 8.50%

SOMEONE PLEASE HELP. SHOW WORK
kirill [66]
You need to break this into smaller shapes. This shape consists of 4 smaller shapes: 3 triangles and 1 rectangle.

Formulas:
Triangle: A = 1/2 bh
Rectangle: A= bh

Let's start with the triangle on top with the points B, C and D.
Base = 6
Height = 3

A = 1/2 (6)(3)
Multiply base by height
A = 1/2 (18)
Multiply.
A= 9

The triangle on the left:
Base= 4
Height = 4

A= 1/2 (4)(4)
A= 1/2 (16)
A= 8

The triangle on the right:
Base= 2
Height= 4

A= 1/2 (2)(4)
A= 1/2 (8)
A= 4

The rectangle in the middle:
Base= 6
Height=4

A= (6)(4)
A= 24

Now add all the areas together:
9 + 8 + 4 + 24 = 45 cm²

Hope this helps! :)
