Answer:

One change to Earth's surface can result in changes to other Earth systems.

All of the spheres on the Earth are interconnected, and they constantly interact with each other. When there's a change in one of the spheres then the other ones have changed as well. This is the case with the hydrosphere and the atmosphere. The atmosphere is becoming hotter in the past few decades, and this is contributing to the increased temperature of the hydrosphere (in this case, the sea surface). With the increasing temperatures of the sea surface, the cyclone activity becomes bigger and stronger, and this contributes to lots of natural disasters. So we can easily see the interaction and changes in this case between the spheres;

* atmosphere gets hotter - temperature of the sea surface rises - bigger cyclone activity.

What is the name of the thermodynamic barrier that must be overcome before products are formed in a spontaneous reaction?
ira [324]

The thermodynamic barrier that must be overcome before products are formed in spontaneous reaction is activation energy.

The activation energy is the maximum amount of extra energy that is required by a reacting molecules to get converted into product. It is the minimum energy that is required or needed to activate or energize molecules or atoms.

It is needed in the reaction so that reactants can move together and overcome forces of repulsion and start bond breaking.

Reactant is the substance that takes part in and that undergoes change during a reaction.

Describe the effect of amanitin on the maximum elongation rate for the wild-type and modified RNA polymerases. Determine the rat
Ainat [17]

Answer:

Average max. elongation rate = modified RNA pol./ wild type RNA pol = 2/12 = 0.166 nucleotides per sec.

Explanation:

After treating the wild type and experimental RNA with amanitin solution, the amanitin actively binds to the active site of wild type RNA polymerase, inhibiting addition of nucleotides and also it interferes with the motility of RNA pol. along the DNA template, due to which their is a sharp decline in maximum elongation rate of mRNA. In case of experimental RNA polymerase, due to single base substitution the experimental strain is already having very low elongation rate, but binding of amanitin causes constraint on the motility of RNA polymerase through the DNA template, thereby decreasing the elongation rate. Average max. elongation rate = modified RNA pol./ wild type RNA pol = 2/12 = 0.166 nucleotides per sec.

What are the three enzymes that play a major role in DNA replication? What do they do?
a_sh-v [17]

DNA helicase uncoils the DNA strand and prepares it for replication.

DNA polymerase synthesizes DNA and helps build more strands.

DNA ligase connects two strands of DNA together.
