An independednt variable is a variable that doesnt need any support Dependent is where there is variable, but it depends on something else.

For example,

y=2x+1

y is dependent, becuase it depend on 2x+1

x is independent, beucase it doesnt need to depend on anything.

Answer:

Lets say that we have an equation. You get 10 dollars for every hour you work. x = how many hours worked, and s = your salary for each hour

<u>example equation</u>
10x = S.

S will be the DEPENDENT variable and X is the INDEPENDENT  variable. Why? Because your salary depends on how many hours you worked. If you work for 5 hours, you get $50. Its not like your boss gives you the $50 and like "work for 5 hours". thats not how it works lol

Hope this helped :)

To increase and decrease an amount by 7%, what single multiplier would you use?
Mila [183]

We will solve the problem for both cases:

Case 1:

If the amount increases by 7% we have the number for which we are going to multiply is given by:

x = (\frac{1}{100}) * (100 + 7)

x = (\frac{1}{100}) * (107)\\x = 1.07

Case 2:

If the amount decreases by 7% we have the number for which we are going to multiply is given by:

x = (\frac{1}{100}) * (100-7)

x = (\frac{1}{100}) * (93)\\x = 0.93

Answer:

single multiplier you would use for each case is:

x = 1.07 (increase)

x = 0.93 (decrease)
