The vertical distance as the object was raised is 40 m.

<h3>What is vertical distance?</h3>

This is the distance between two vertical positions in space. Vertical distance can also be called height.

To calculate the vertical distance at which the object was raised, we use the formula below.

Formula:

  • P = Fd/t.................... Equation 1

Where:

  • P = Power of the motor
  • F = Force
  • d = vertical distance
  • t = time.

Make d the subject of the equation.

  • d = Pt/F............. Equation 2

From the question,

Given:

  • P = 120 watt
  • F = 15 Newton
  • t = 5.0 seconds

Substitute these values into equation 2

  • d = (120)(5)/15
  • d = 40 m.

Hence, the vertical distance as the object was raised is 40 m.

Arisa [49]

Answer:

Explanation:

The difference in time will be due to travel through atmosphere where speed of light slows down. If t be the thickness of atmosphere and c be the speed of light in space and μ be the refractive index of atmosphere difference in travel time will be as follows .

difference = \frac{2t\mu }{c}-\frac{2t }{c}

=\frac{2t}{c }\left ( 1-\mu  \right )

Now t = 40 x 10³m ,μ = 1.000293 , c = 3 x 10⁸.

difference =\frac{2t\mu }{c}-\frac{2t }{c}

=\frac{2t}{c }\left ( \mu -1  \right )\\

=\frac{ 2\times 40\times 10^3}{3\times10^3 }\left ( 1.000293-1 \right )\\

=7.81\times 10^{-3} s

Vesna [10]
Static charge occurs when there is an imbalance of positively and negatively charged atoms, so this one should be the last option that it involves ions as well.

Several days after snowfall , the roofs of some homes on your street have almost no snow on them, while the roofs on other homes
Alina [70]

Explanation:

This due to thermal insulation of some of the roof.

An insulator is body is a poor conductor of heat and will require high thermal energy to cause temperature changes.

  • A house with a roof that is thermally insulated will have poor heat conduction.
  • Since little heat is conducted, there wont be enough thermal energy to melt the snow.
  • Thermal energy is directly related to heat.
  • A house that is not insulated will absorb a lot of heat.
  • This will cause the snow to melt very fast.

A spaceship starting from a resting position accelerates at a constant rate of 9.8 meters per second per second. How long and ho
Verizon [17]

Accelerating at 9.8 m/s² means that every second, the speed is 9.8 m/s faster than it was a second earlier.  It's not important to the problem, but this number (9.8) happens to be the acceleration of gravity on Earth.

1% of the speed of light = (300,000,000 m/s) / 100 = 3,000,000 m/s .

Starting from zero speed, moving (9.8 m/s) faster every second,
how long does it take to reach  3,000,000 m/s ?

           (3,000,000 m/s) / (9.8 m/s²)  =  306,122 seconds .
                                                   (That's  5,102 minutes.)
                                                        (That's  85 hours.)
                                                     (That's  3.54 days.)

Speed at the beginning . . . zero .
Speed at the end . . . 3,000,000 m/s
Average speed . . . . . 1,500,000 m/s

Distance = (average speed) x (time)

               = (1,500,000 m/s) x (306,122 sec) = 4.592 x 10¹¹ meters

                                                                     =  459 million kilometers

                         That's like from Earth
                                                  to       Sun
                                                             to    Earth
                                                                    to        Sun.
