Lesechka [4]

Answer:

as a decimal, -22.33 as a fraction, -22 1/3

Step-by-step explanation: I showed my work so I hope that is correct

(REMEMBER P.E.M.D.A.S. STANDS FOR PARENTHESIS, EXPONENTS, MULTIPLY, DIVIDE, ADD, SUBTRACT-IN THAT EXACT ORDER)

first I would change the problem so that all of the fractions have the same common denominator and turn the mixed number into an improper fraction:

1.(75/100 / 3/100 - 2350/100)

second before solving anything else, I would solve inside the parenthesis with P.E.M.D.A.S. so I would solve 78/100 / 3/100

2. 78/100 / 3/100 =  26/100

now we have (26/100-2350/100) to solve in the parenthesis. I would make the denominator A LOT smaller before handling this.

3&4. 26/100 and 2350/100 both have common denominators of 50, 20,and 10. So you would get 13/50-1175/50, 26/20-470/20, or 26/10-235/10.

so 26/10-235/10= -235/10 also equal to -47/2 or -43.5 (-43 1/2)

so now we have (-47/2) / 1 1/2*2/3 + 1 1/6

I would continue following P.E.M.D.A.S. and add parenthesis around 1 1/2* 2/3 and solve (but first I would keep the same denominator)

5.1 1/2=3/2, 3/2=9/6 and 2/3 = 4/6

so, 9/6*4/6 = 36/36 which is equal to

now, we have (-47/2) / 1 + 1 1/6

and basically, we now have -47/2 + 7/6

which can be handled 2 ways

1/2,) turn to decimals, which looks like -23.5 + 1.17 (by rounding to the nearest tenths place) = -22.33

2/2,)simplify and subtract as fractions, which would look like -141/6 + 7/6 = -134/6 which is equal to -67/3 or as a mixed number, -22 1/3

Marina drove 288 miles in the same amount of time it took Jaime to drive 312 miles. If Jaime drove 6 miles per hour faster than
sp2606 [1]

Let X = Marinas speed in MPH

Let T = Time

T=288/X
 312=(X+6)T
312=(X+6)(288/X)
312=288X/X+1728/X
312=288+1728/X
312-288=1728/X
24=1728/X
24X=1728

X=1728/24
X=72 MPH  FOR MARINA

 72+6=78 MPH FOR JAMIE

What is the equation of the line passing through the points (2, –1) and (5, –10) in slope-intercept form?y=-3x-5y=-3x+5y=3x-5 y=
mars1129 [50]
Find the slope:
m=y2-y1/x2-x1
m=-10--1/5-2
m=-9/3
m=-3

If you plug in points (for x and y) into the second equation, you will notice that it results in true statements.

Therefore, your answer is the second choice:
y=-3x +5
