Blood sugar levels of the body need to be maintained, along with what other internal condition?

From what we know, we can confirm that the internal body temperature is another internal condition that must be maintained in the body through homeostasis.

What is homeostasis?

This is the body's ability to maintain certain internal conditions within a range of values. This is done through a series of feedback loops and other regulatory mechanisms. Temperature and blood sugar are just two of the many conditions included in the mechanisms of homeostasis.

Therefore, we can confirm that the internal body temperature is another internal condition that must be maintained in the body through homeostasis.

DNA replication occurs prior to meiosis and _________.
Evgesh-ka [11]
A. Mitosis is the correct answer.

DNA replication occurs in the two major types of cell division: mitosis and meiosis.

Mitosis is the splitting of a normal cell into two daughter cells and involves complete replication of the cells DNA to produce two identical copies. Meiosis is a specialised and more complex two-stage form of cellular division related to sex cells and involves DNA replication followed by an exchange of DNA material within/between the chromosomes to mix genes from both parents and produce daughter cells with half the number of chromosomes as the original parent cell. Animal sperms and eggs are examples of cells produced by meiosis and contain half the number of chromosomes as normal cells. When combined during fertilization the egg and sperm produce a cell with the full compliment of chromosomes.

Cytokinesis is a part of the cellular life cycle that is related specifically to the division of the cytoplasm (basically the "soup" of material inside the cell). It is part of the cellular division process but not specifically related to nuclear division (i.e. DNA replication).

Transcription relates to the production of RNA from DNA which is then used for protein synthesis. DNA is not replicated during the transcription process, rather, this is a separate process critical for the production of proteins by the cell.

What are Mendel's Laws?
Nady [450]

1. Law of Segregation: When gametes form, alleles are separated so that each gamete carries only one allele for each gene

2. Law of Independent Assortment: The segregation of alleles for one gene occurs independently to that of any other gene

3. Principle of Dominance: Recessive alleles will be masked by dominant alleles†

As you are cooking, your hand brushes up against a hot pan. You quickly pull your hand away. What type of stimulus is this?
slava [35]
Stimulus is something that causes a psychological response. It can be internal or external. The stimulus is the contact with the hot pan. It is an external stimulus. Sense organs, such as the sensory receptors in the skin are sensitive to external stimulus. The quickly pull of your hand is a reflex action.
The contact causes a nerve impulse that will travel to the spinal cord via the sensory neurons. To respond to the stimulus of the reflex arc, the muscle needs to contract to pull the hand quickly away from the hot pan.
