Identity refers to an individuals or team's attributes, opinions, attitude, appearances and/or gestures. One might reflect toward identification categorization as either constructive or negative. A mental identity has something to do with personality-image, ego-esteem and uniqueness.
In the given case, Barbara is working on every above mentioned aspect of her personality so that all her co- workers would have a positive image of her in their minds. This process of deliberate change of personalty is called identity management.
