<u>Assume the 3rd side is the hypotenuse:</u>

a² + b² = c²

c² = 12² + 15²

c² = 369

c = √369

c = 19.21 inches (nearest hundredth)

<u>Assume the 3rd side is not the hypotenuse:</u>

a² + b² = c²

12² + b² = 15²

b² = 15² - 12²

b² = 81

b = √81

b = 9 inches

<u>Difference between the two length:</u>

19.21 - 9 = 10.21 inches

Answer: 10.21 inches

sqrt(8-7)^2+(41-4)^2

sqrt(1)^2+(37)^2

sqrt 1+1369

sqrt 1370

= about 37. 01

The function f(x) is graphed on the coordinate plane.
Sergeeva-Olga [200]
Locate -1 on the x axis. The x axis is the horizontal number line at the center of the image.

After finding -1 on the x axis, draw a vertical line as far up and down as you can on the page.

This vertical line will cross the diagonal line, which then you'll move horizontally to the y axis until you reach 3. This means the point (-1,3) is on the diagonal line. The first coordinate is x and the second is y.

So if the input is x = -1 then the output is y = 3
The output of the function is 3
