Mason was ordering the following rational numbers in math class: -3.3, -15, -8 8/9.
lana [24]

Answer:

a) order the number from least to greatest

         8/9> -3.3 > -8 > -15

b) absolute value

    |8/9| = 8/9

    |-3.3| = 3.3

    |-8| = 8

    |-15| = 15

order 15 > 8 > 3.3 > 8/9

c) difference in the order in part (a) and (b) is because larger value with negative sign is the smallest.

anastassius [24]

Answer:

864\ in^{2}

Step-by-step explanation:

The figure is a cube

The surface area of a cube is equal to

S=6b^{2}

where

b is the length side of the cube

In this problem we have

b=12\ in

substitute

S=6(12^{2})=864\ in^{2}

How to solve and what is the answer
TiliK225 [7]
Two ways:
1) guess factors(trial and error)
2) use quadratic formula.
If you use this method then a = -3, b = -6 and c = -1

x = -b +/- [sqrt(b^2 -4ac)/2a]
substituting a, b, and c into our equation we get:
x = - (-6)+/- [sqrt ((-6)^2) - 4(-3)(-1))/2 (-3)]
x = + 6 +/- [sqrt (36 -4 (3)/-6)]  if I didnt make a mistake in my signs
x = + 6 +/- [sqrt (36 -12)/-6)]
x = 6 +/- [sqrt (24)/-6]  but sqrt 6 x sqrt of 4 = sqrt 24 hence
x = 6 +/-  [ sqrt 6 x sqrt 4 /-6] that is:
x = 6 +/- [sqrt 6 x 2 /-6 ]
so x = 6 + [sqrt 6 x 2/-6] and x = 6 - [sqrt 6 x 2/-6]

Jay's net earnings are $4000 per month. Jay's monthly expenses are $3000 per month, with $2000 of that being rent. According to
Solnce55 [7]

In Five month Jay should have $15,000  in his account has emergency fund

<h3>Given Data</h3>

Earnings per month = $4000

Monthly Expenses = $3000

Monthly Rent = $2000 part of monthly expenses

After deducting monthly expenses from Monthly earning we have

4000-3000 = $1000

<h3>Determining the 5-months Emergency Funds</h3>

Since we have a monthly expenses of $3000 a five month emergency fund will be

= 3000*5

= $15,000
