14. Determine the arc length of AB. Give your answer to two decimal places.

Given :-

• A circle with radius 9m .

To Find :-

• The length of arc AB .

Solution :-

In the given figure arc AB subtends an angle of 124° at the centre . Firstly convert this into radians as ,

$\longrightarrow \pi rad. = 180^o$

So,

$\longrightarrow 124^o = \dfrac{\pi}{180^o}\times 124^o$

$\\\longrightarrow 124^o = 2.16 \ rad$

Now we may use the formula ,

$\longrightarrow length = radius \times \theta$

Substitute the respective values,

$\longrightarrow \widehat{AB}= 9m\times2 .16$

Multiply ,

$\longrightarrow \underline{\underline{\widehat{AB}= 19.48 \ m}}$

Hence the required answer is 19.48m .
