Well, a procedure tells you what to do in an experiment.

If a scientist does not carefully and accurately list the steps to performing the experiment, you will mess things up.

Hope this helps!

Q9. A SimCell has a special membrane that is permeable to alcohol but not to water. This SimCell contains 20% alcohol and 80% wa
Charra [1.4K]

Answer:

The SimCell will expand due to net movement of alcohol into the cell

Explanation:

Since the SimCell is only permeable to alcohol and not water, only alcohol can move in and out of the cell. Hence, if a SimCell that contains 20% alcohol and 0% water is placed in a solution containing 40% alcohol and 60% water, there would be a net movement of alcohol from the surrounding solution into the SimCell till equilibrium concentration of alcohol is established between the SimCell and the surrounding solution.

Therefore, the SimCell will expand due to the net movement of alcohol into the cell.

How does the principle of faunal succession assist the technique of relative dating?
Arte-miy333 [17]

Answer:

It provides a defined order to the succession of organisms.

Explanation: Relative dating of rocks involves the relative or comparative determination of age with reference to past events. There are several principles involved in carrying out relative dating. Some of these principles are:1. Principle of inclusion2. Principle of inclusion 3. Principle of fossil and fauna succession The Principle of fossil and fauna succession postulates that fossil and fauna succeeds one another in a definite pattern. It is this defined order that we use to achieve relative dating of rocks. Plant and animal remains constitutes the fauna and fossils used in dating the rocks. When we find a particular fossil in a rock, we can place that rock in its appropriate geological time. We can even go further by correlating rock types using their fossil contents.
