With the use of formula, the frequency of the tuning fork is 13.6 Hz

<h3>RESONANCE</h3>

A tuning fork can be used to determine the speed of sound in air using a resonance tube. The apparatus needed for this experiment are;

  • Tuning fork
  • beaker
  • glass tube
  • water

The experiment begins when a student holds a pipe vertically, with one end submerged in water while the opposite end is out in the air. Just above the pipe, the student holds a tuning fork. The student carefully moves the pipe up and down, varying the level of water inside of it, until they detect a strong resonant sound.

Given that the student detects this sound when the length of air inside of the pipe measures 56.25 cm, and then again when the length is 68.75 cm. Taking the speed of sound in air to be of 340. m s–1.

The parameters given are:

L_{1} = 56.25 cm

L_{2} = 68.75 cm

V = 340 m/s

The formula to use for this question is

V = 2F( L_{2} - L_{1} )

340 = 2F (68.75 - 56.25)

340 = 2 x 12.5 x F

340 = 25F

F = 340/25

F = 13.6 Hz

Therefore, the frequency of the tuning fork is 13.6 Hz

A football is kicked straight up from a height of 5 feet with an initial speed of 55 feet per second. The formula h equals negat
makvit [3.9K]

Answer:

3.53 second

Explanation:

The formula for the height is

h=-16t^{2}+55t+5

When it hits the ground, the height is zero.

So, put h = 0 in the above equation

0=-16t^{2}+55t+5

16t^{2}-55t-5=0

t=\frac{+55\pm \sqrt{55^{2}+4\times 5\times 16}}{2\times 16}

t=\frac{+55\pm 57.84}{2\times 16}

Take positive sign

t = 3.53 second.

Thus, the time taken to hit the ground is 3.53 second.

Mangrove forests play an important role in _______.
AysviL [449]
D. All of the above

At high tide fish will feed among the mangrove roots - rich fishing ground

The trees trap sediment and soil in the river that would flow out to sea which also helps stop erosion

Wildlife utilise almost every part of the tree, with insects and birds, monkeys and lizards in the branches, shrimps and fish in the roots, and snails and clams in the soil
