A + c = 824                             represents number of tickets to sell
20a + 12c = 13,344                represents cost of each type of ticket

multiply equation 1 by -12 to cancel the variable 'c' and solve for 'a'

-12(a + c = 824)

-12a - 12c = - 9888
 20a + 12c = 13,344         add equations together
-----------------------------
    8a          = 3456           divide both sides by 8
     a = 432

To find children's tickets substitute adult numbers back into equation 1.
a + c = 824
432 + c = 824
subtract 432 from both sides
c = 392

adult 432, children 392

Which is greater 10,000ML or 10L of juice
elena-14-01-66 [18.8K]
Neither, they are the same amount.  1,000 milliliters is equal to one liter.  As such, 10000/1000 equal 10.  So, 10000 mL is equal to 10 L of juice.

What is the area of this trapezoid?
liberstina [14]

Answer:

7.5\:\text{square units}

Step-by-step explanation:

The area of a trapezoid is given by the average of the bases multiplied by the height.

What we're given:

  • Height of 3
  • Bases of 1 and 4

The average of the bases 1 and 4 is equal to \frac{4+1}{2}=\frac{5}{2}=2.5

Therefore, the area of the trapezoid is 2.5\cdot 3=\boxed{7.5\:\text{square units}}

A rectangular prism with a square base has a volume of 980 inches. If the height of this rectangular prism is 5 inches, what are
just olya [345]

Answer:

14 inches

Step-by-step explanation:

Since the rectangular prism has a square base, we know that the width and length are equal.

Using the formula for calculating the volume of a rectangular prism, we can set up an equation:

(width^2)*height = 980 cubic inches or

(width^2)*5 in. = 980 cubic inches, simplify the equation by dividing each side by 5 inches, and the result is:

width^2 = 196 sq.in., simply by taking the square root of each side of the equation, and the result is:

√width (inches) = √196 square inches = width = 14 inches

each side of the prism's base is 14 inches
