Two pieces of metal with exactly the same mass are placed on a surface in bright sunlight. The temperature of the 1st block incr

eases by 3°C while the temperature of the 2nd increases by 8°C. If the specific heat of the 2nd block is 0.24 J/g-K, what is the specific heat of the 1st block?

Answer:The specific heat of the first block is 0.64 J/gK,

Explanation:

Block-2

Q= m\times c\times \Delta T

Q= heat from the sun

m = mass of the block-2

c = heat capacity of block-2= 0.24 J/g K

\Delta T={\text{Change in temperature}}=8^oC

Q=m\times c\times 8^C..(1)

Block-1

Q= heat from the sun

m = mass of the block-2

c' = heat capacity of block-1

\Delta T'={\text{Change in temperature}}=3^oC

Q=m\times c'\times 3^oC..(2)

Dividing(1) by (2)

\frac{Q}{Q}=\frac{m\times 0.24 J/gK\times 8oC}{m\times c'\times 3^oC}

c'= 0.64 J/gK

he specific heat of the first block is 0.64 J/gK,

adelina 88 [10]

Answer:

Speed BA = 18 km/hr.

Explanation:

Given the following data;

Speed AB = 30km/hr

Speed BA = x km/hr

Average speed = 24 km/hr

To find the value of x;

Average speed = (Speed AB + Speed BA)/2

Substituting into the equation, we have

24 = (30 + x)/2

48 = 30 + x

x = 48 - 30

x = 18 km/hr
