Mathematics

(I cannot draw the Venn diagram, sorry)

25 students in a class, 3 of them have neither -> Only 22 students have at least a pet.

15 of them have a cat, 16 of them have a dog -> There are 31 - 22 = 9 students that have both a cat and a dog

So, the probabilty of a person chosen at random that has a cat and a dog is 9 : 25 = 0.36 -> 36%.

Find the nonpermissible replacement for y in the expression y-3/y+3
Nastasia [14]

Answer:

The nonpermissible replacement of the variable y is -3

Step-by-step explanation:

The nonpermissible replacement of the variable in a certain expression is the value of the variable that will make the denominator of the expression zero.

The expression \dfrac{y-3}{y+3} has the denominator y+3.

This denominator cannot be equal zero, thus,

y+3\neq 0,\\ \\y\neq -3.
