The Letter of Paul to the Ephesians - Ἐφεσίους - follows his Letter to the Galatians and precedes his Letter to the Philippians in the New Testament of the Bible. The Epistle of St. Paul to the Ephesians is one of the 5 Captivity Epistles, along with Philippians, Colossians, Second Timothy, and Philemon.

St. Paul visited Ephesus in Asia Minor with Priscilla and Aquila on his second missionary journey, and returned to Ephesus on the Aegean Sea during his third missionary journey, to live there for a total of three years ). Ephesians  refers to his being an ambassador in bonds. The letter was possibly written from his imprisonment in Rome in 62-63 AD. One wonders whether he was imprisoned in Ephesus where he lived for three years, but taught only two years and three months), for he wrote in Second Corinthians  of an affliction in the Roman Province of Asia where he "despaired even of life."
