Compare in general terms the effects of epinephrine glucagon and insulin on glucose metabolism
storchak [24]
<span> Epinephrine and glucagon cause an increase in the blood glucose level. Epinephrine acts when a higher than normal level of glucose is required; glucagon acts when the level is unusually low. Both stimulate gluconeogenesis and glycogen breakdown and decrease glycolysis and glycogen synthesis. Insulin causes a decrease in blood glucose levels; it acts by increasing glycogen synthesis, glycolysis, and glucose uptake by cells as well as by decreasing glycogen breakdown.

Hope this helps please award brainly :)

You have been assigned to care for Jim. He is 29 years old and has been diagnosed with Schizophrenia. Jim has been prescribed ch
Sunny_sXe [5.5K]

Answer:

I'd tell Jim's mother and father that there are many medications that can be prescribed to schizophrenics such as Jim. Thorazine isn't his only option, there are a variety of Anti-Psychotic medications that his psychiatrist can prescribe to him. When it comes to any medication that involves mental health treatment its trial and error until his psychiatrist can prescribe him what's just right. All medications have Negative effect that's a given but not all are as severe as the other. for example Jim may be prescribed one medication lets say he's prescribed Saphris and gains severe weight. His psychiatrist can switch out the Saphris for Abilify. If the Abilify doesn't give him that problem of gaining weight and Jim has little to moderate side effects he'll stay on that medication.  ^^ Listed medications for schizophrenia down below.

Fluphenazine (Prolixin)

Haloperidol (Haldol)

Perphenazine (Trilafon)

Thioridazine (Mellaril)

Thiothixene (Navane)

Trifluoperazine (Stelazine)

Aripiprazole (Abilify)

Aripiprazole lauroxil (Aristada)

Asenapine (Saphris)

Brexpiprazole (Rexulti)

Cariprazine (Vraylar)

Clozapine (Clozaril)

Iloperidone (Fanapt)

Lumateperone tosylate (Caplyta)

Lurasidone (Latuda)

Olanzapine (Zyprexa)

Paliperidone (Invega Sustenna)

Paliperidone palmitate (Invega Trinza)

Quetiapine (Seroquel)

Risperidone (Risperdal)

Ziprasidone (Geodon)

Explanation: I'm an actual schizophrenic and have been through what Jim is going through.
