So, first, you add x to both sides of the equation
Second, you subtract 3 from both sides of the equation
Last, you would multiply both sides of the equation by 2
It would look like this.....
-1/2x+3=-x+7
1/2x+3=7
1/2x=4
2*(1/2)=(2)*4
x=8

-1/2x + 3 = -x + 7

We're simply just trying to get "x" by itself.

So, in order to do this, we must move anything that doesn't have "x" in it to the other side.

SO, subtract 3 from both sides.

-1/2x = -x + 7 - 3

Then, add x to both sides.

-1/2x + x = 7 - 3

Then, simplify.

1/2x = 4

Multiply both sides by 2.

2 · 1/2x = 4 · 2

Simplify.

x = 8

What is x please help
IRISSAK [1]

Answer:

x = 71

Step-by-step explanation:

Given the triangle in red, we can find the unknown angle since the sum of the angles of a triangle are 180.  Call the unknown angle GHI

B+ D+ GHI = 180

31+ 40 + GHI = 180

71 + GHI = 180

GHI = 180 -71

GHI = 109

We know that GHI + x = 180 since it forms a straight line

GHI + x =180

109 + x = 180

x = 180-109

x = 71
