So, first, you add x to both sides of the equation
Second, you subtract 3 from both sides of the equation
Last, you would multiply both sides of the equation by 2
It would look like this.....
-1/2x+3=-x+7
1/2x+3=7
1/2x=4
2*(1/2)=(2)*4
x=8

-1/2x + 3 = -x + 7

We're simply just trying to get "x" by itself.

So, in order to do this, we must move anything that doesn't have "x" in it to the other side.

SO, subtract 3 from both sides.

-1/2x = -x + 7 - 3

Then, add x to both sides.

-1/2x + x = 7 - 3

Then, simplify.

1/2x = 4

Multiply both sides by 2.

2 · 1/2x = 4 · 2

Simplify.

x = 8

A label wraps around soup can with a radius of 4.3 cm and a height of 6 cm. What is the lateral surface area of the label of the
Soloha48 [4]

Answer:

52\pi \text{ cm}^2\approx 162.11\text{ cm}^2

Step-by-step explanation:

We have been given that a label wraps around soup can with a radius of 4.3 cm and a height of 6 cm. We are asked to find the lateral surface area of the label of the soup can in square centimeters.

We will use lateral surface area of cylinder to solve our given problem as:

LA=2\pi rh, where,

r = Radius of cylinder,

h = height of cylinder.

Upon substituting our given values in above formula, we will get:

LA=2\pi \times\text{4.3 cm}\times \text{6 cm}

LA=51.6\pi \text{ cm}^2

LA=162.10618\text{ cm}^2

Therefore, the lateral surface area of the label of the soup is approximately 162.11 square cm.

Passes through (2, 3) at a gradient of 2
Tcecarenko [31]

Answer:

y = 2x-1

Step-by-step explanation:

I'm guessing gradient of 2 means slope of 2

if line passes through (2,3) and has a slope of 2, we can use the slope intercept equation

slope-intercept (y=mx+b)

m is the slope and b is the y-intercept (which we are trying to find)

so far, we have a point and a slope so we can fill in x,y, and m

(3) = (2)(2) + b

3 = 4 + b

3-4 = 4-4 + b (to undo addition, you use subtraction so I minus 4 from each side)

-1 = b

we found b so we just take the (2,3) out of the equation substitute the x,y back into the equation

y = 2x - 1
