What is the role of dna replication in the process of cellular reproduction?
Sergeeva-Olga [200]
Most cells grow, perform the activities needed to survive, and divide to create new cells. These basic processes, known collectively as the cell cycle, are repeated throughout the life of a cell. Of the various parts of the cell cycle, the division portion is particularly important, because this is the point at which a cell passes its genetic information to its offspring cells. In many situations, division also ensures that new cells are available to replace the older cells within an organism whenever those cells die. Prokaryotic cells, which include bacteria, undergo a type of cell division known as binary fission. This process involves replication of the cell's chromosomes, segregation of the copied DNA, and splitting of the parent cell's cytoplasm. The outcome of binary fission is two new cells that are identical to the original cell.

When a neuron is at rest, there is a charge separation (voltage) across the plasma membrane called ________?
Gnom [1K]
The answer for the above question is the resting membrane potential. The resting membrane potential is the voltage across a cell plasma membrane in the resting or quiescent state. It is controlled by the amount of certain potassium channels and other factors that contribute to resting membrane potential are the concentration of ions on the inside and outside of the cell, the permeability of the cell membrane to the ions through specific ion channels and also the activity of electrogenic pumps such as Na+/K+ -ATPase.

Why would a diverse community be more resistant to disease, predation, and invasion
xenn [34]
A diverse community would be more resistant because firstly, the different animals can build immunity to the other animals diseases and sometimes only certain species will be effected by a certain disease. Instead of everything being wiped out, only a small part of the community will.

Hope this helped!
