5 0

Answer:

x < 5

<u>Explanation:</u>

 7*x-35-(2*(x-5))<0

 (7x - 35) -  2 • (x - 5)  < 0

Pull out like factors :

  5x - 25  =   5 • (x - 5)

 5 • (x - 5)  < 0

Divide both sides by  5

Add  5  to both sides

x < 5

Write a quadratic equation given the x intercepts and other other point. Put steps together. Find the factors. Solve for a by su
Ray Of Light [21]

Answer:

This question is clearly incomplete, so i will answer it in a really general way.

Suppose that for a quadratic function, we know that the x-intercepts are a and b.

And we also know that this function passes through the point (c, d).

First a definition, for a n-degree polynomial with the x-intercepts {x₁, x₂, ...,xₙ}  and a leading coefficient K, we can write this polynomial in the factorized form as:

p(x) = K*(x - x₁)*(x - x₂)*...*(x - xₙ)

Now let's do the same for our quadratic function, we can write it as:

f(x) = K*(x - a)*(x - b)

(where a and b are known numbers)

Now we also know that this function passes through the point (c, d)

This means that:

f(c) = d

then:

d = K*(c - a)*(c - b)

With this equation we can find the value of K,

K = d/( (c-a)*(c - b))

Then the quadratic function is:

f(x) = d\frac{(x-a)}{(c-a)} \frac{(x-b)}{(c-b)}

Where again, it is supposed that you know the values of a and b, and also the point (c, d)

a frog can jump 2 feet. how many jumps are needed for the frog to cover a distance of at least 13 feet ?
Ugo [173]
To get 13 feet, it needs to jump 6 and 1/2 jumps, but to get the smallest number past 13, 7 jumps are needed to get a distance of 14 feet

The area of a rectangular playground enclosure at francis lewis hw is 500 square meters. the lenght of the playground is 5 meter
Alex Ar [27]
A=L*W
L=W+5
A=(W+5)W
500=W²+5W
W²+5W-500=0

W=(-5+/-√(25+4*500))/2=(-5+/-√2025)/2=(-5+/-45)/2
we are going to take only positive value, so W=(-5+45)/2=20
L=W+5=20+5=25
W=20,
L=25
