• Ovary is the organ which produces estrogen and progesterone.
 • The ovaries are the major reproductive organ found in females which are not only responsible for the development of the ova but also for secretion of the female sex hormones which are estrogen and progesterone.
 • These hormones are produced by the ovaries in response to the luteinizing (LH) and follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) that is secreted by the pituitary gland.
 • As the LH and FSH and received by the ovary they release estrogen and progesterone.

A three banded isoenzyme pattern with a 1:2:1 intensity ratio indicates a ________________ protein.
djverab [1.8K]

A three banded isoenzyme pattern with a 1:2:1 intensity ratio indicates a dimeric protein.

 • Isozyme is a multimeric forms of enzyme having similar specificity of the substrate but differences in kinetics and molecular weights of the enzymes.
 • The banding patterns of isozyme observed from electrophoresis is related to the genetic conditions in which different combination of polypeptide chains exhibited under the mendelian principles.
 • Hence with the intensity of 1:2:1 ratio, three banded phenotypes are formed having two homomeric and one heteromeric form from the dimeric protein in both multiple alleles at single loci and multiple /single allele at multiple loci.

Phylogenetic species concept (PSC) The concept of a species as an irreducible group whose members are descended from a common ancestor and who all possess a combination of certain defining, or derived, traits (see apomorphy). ... "phylogenetic species concept." A Dictionary of Biology. .

Or

The biological species concept has its limitations (although it works well for many organisms and has been very influential in the growth ofevolutionary theory). ... In thisexample, Ensatina salamander lineages A and B are separate species. Each has a common ancestor that individuals of other species do not.
