Answer:

Math with letters

Step-by-step explanation:

Algebra is just like normal math but instead of you knowing all the numbers there are some numbers you dont know and those are replaced with letters. letters are there to you can replace them with any number, or if given the right problem you might have to find out what number replaces the letter to give you the right answer. for example take 1+x=2 here x would be replaced with 1 to make this true. or take y=2-x+3 if you replace x with any number you want that changes the (y) value to give you anything you want. Also the letters can be any letter you want they dont mean anything just there as place holders for numbers.

What is 6.54 as a mixed number
Andrews [41]
The number given in the question is in decimal form. It has to be first changed to fraction and then only can it be changed to a mixed fraction. The calculations have to be done correctly and then the problem is very straight forward. Now let us concentrate on the problem in hand.
Then
6.54 = 654/100
       = 327/50
       = 6 27/50
From the above deduction we can definitely conclude that the mixed number for 6.54 is 5 27/50. I hope this simple procedure will help you to attempt such type of problems in future without requiring any additional help.

Orange M&M’s: The M&M’s web site says that 20% of milk chocolate M&M’s are orange. Let’s assume this is true and set
SOVA2 [1]

Answer:

The correct option is (A).

Step-by-step explanation:

Let X = number of orange milk chocolate M&M’s.

The proportion of orange milk chocolate M&M’s is, p = 0.20.

The number of candies in a small bag of milk chocolate M&M’s is, n = 55.

The event of an milk chocolate M&M being orange is independent of the other candies.

The random variable X follows a Binomial distribution with parameter n = 55 and p = 0.20.

The expected value of a Binomial random variable is:

E(X)=np

Compute the expected number of orange milk chocolate M&M’s in a bag of 55 candies as follows:

E(X)=np

         =55\times 0.20\\=11

It is provided that in a randomly selected bag of milk chocolate M&M's there were 14 orange ones, i.e. the proportion of orange milk chocolate M&M's in a random bag was 25.5%.

This proportion is not surprising.

This is because the average number of orange milk chocolate M&M’s in a bag of 55 candies is expected to be 11. So, if a bag has 14 orange milk chocolate M&M’s it is not unusual at all.

All unusual events have a very low probability, i.e. less than 0.05.

Compute the probability of P (X ≥ 14) as follows:

P(X\geq 14)=\sum\limits^{55}_{x=14}{{55\choose x}0.20^{x}(1-0.20)^{55-x}}

                 =0.1968

The probability of having 14 or more orange candies in a bag of milk chocolate M&M’s is 0.1968.

This probability is quite larger than 0.05.

Thus, the correct option is (A).

Answer:

H0:p1=p2; Ha:p1≠p2, which is a two-tailed test.

Step-by-step explanation:

We formulate our hypotheses as

H0:p1=p2; Ha:p1≠p2, which is a two-tailed test.

Supposing the probability or proportion of the first survey is equal to the probability or proportion of the second survey. This will be the null hypothesis and the alternative hypotheses would be that these two proportions or probabilities are unequal.

This is a two tailed test.
