The density of copper is 8.94 g/cm 3 at 20°C and 8.91 g/cm 3 at 60°C. This density decrease is the result of which of the follow

The true statement is that the metal expands, causing increase in volume which consequently causes the density to decrease slightly.

The density of a substance depends on its mass and its volume. Copper is a metallic substance. We usually define the density of a substance as the ratio of mass to volume.

This means that, as the volume of a substance increases or decreases, the density of the substance is affected.

Having said that, we need to be reminded that the mass of the substance does not change when the metal is heated but the metal may increase in volume (expand) when heated or decrease in volume(contract) when cooled.

When a metal expands, its density decreases. As we can see, the density of copper decreased from 8.94 g/cm 3 at 20°C to 8.91 g/cm 3 at 60°C.

So, the following are true or false;

The metal expands - True

The metal contracts - False

The mass of the metal increases - False

The mass of the metal decreases - False

How many of the following are true concerning balanced chemical equations? I. The number of molecules is conserved. II. The coef
ZanzabumX [31]

Answer: I. The number of molecules is conserved.

III. Atoms are neither created nor destroyed

Explanation:

According to the law of conservation of mass, mass can neither be created nor be destroyed. Thus the mass of products formed must be equal to the mass of reactants taken.

In order to get the same mass on both sides, the atoms of each element must be balanced on both sides of the chemical equation.

For example: 2Na+2H_2O\rightarrow 2NaOH+H_2

Thus in the reactants, there are 4 atoms of hydrogen , 2 atoms of oxygen and 2 atoms of sodium. Thus there will be 4 atoms of hydrogen, 2 atoms of oxygen and 2 atoms of sodium in the product as well.

Describe the hybrid orbitals used by the central atom(s) and the type(s) of bonds formed in:
BaLLatris [955]

The valence orbitals of a central atom surrounded by three regions of electron density consist of a set of three sp2 hybrid orbitals and one unhybridized p orbital.

Is Nitrosyl fluoride polar or non polar?

The affinity for electrons between the two atoms will keep them together, resulting in the sharing of electron density. In the case of Nitryl fluoride, The N-F bond is polar, acting as a dipole with a partial positive charge on the nitrogen atom and a partial negative charge on the fluorine atom, respectively.

Is Nitrosyl fluoride a gas?

Nitryl fluoride, NO2F, is a colourless gas and strong oxidizing agent, which is used as a fluorinating agent and has been proposed as an oxidiser in rocket propellants (though never flown).

The total pressure of all the gases inside a metal container is 9.8 atm. If the partial pressure of the oxygen in the container
mina [271]
5.6 atm

In a container, the sum of partial pressures equals the total pressure. If the sun is 9.8 atm and the partial pressure of oxygen is 4.2 atm, the rest of the gases must account for the other 5.6 atm.
