Answer:

Thus, helium is the smallest element, and francium is the largest. From top to bottom in a group, orbitals corresponding to higher values of the principal quantum number (n) are being added, which are on average further away from the nucleus, thus causing the size of the atom to increase.

Is a dibasic acid the same as a strong acid
Kisachek [45]

Answer:

Since all the acid molecules have split into ions, there will be more H+ ions in a strong acid than a weak acid, hence it's pH is lower! E.g. Hydrochloric acid HCl, nitric acid HNO3. If one mole of an acid is neutralised by 2 moles of NaOH, then the acid is dibasic!

hope it helps

How many moles of Na2Cr2O7 contain 14 moles of oxygen atoms?
sergiy2304 [10]
The number of moles of sodium dichromate from the number of moles of oxygen atoms can be determined through stoichiometry. Using the molecular formula of the compound, Na2Cr2O7, 1 mole of the compound contains 7 moles of oxygen. Hence, 14 moles O2*(1 mole Na2Cr2O7/ 7 mole O2) is equal to 2 moles Na2Cr2O7.

What is meant by ion and salt
Neko [114]

Answer:

Ion

Ion is a charged particle.

A neutral atom contains equal number of positive protons and negative electrons

When an electron is lost or gained the atom becomes a charged particle which is called as an ION.

For example

Na is an atom which contains 11 electrons and 11 protons(= to atomic number)

When Na loses an electron it will have 11 positive proton and 10 negative electron and Thus, Na will become Na^+, a charge particle which we call it as sodium ion.

Cl is an atom which contains 17 electrons and 17 protons(= to atomic number)

When Cl loses an electron it will have 17 positive proton and 18 negative electron and Thus, Cl will become Cl^-, a charge particle which we call it as chloride ion.

When an ion is positively charged it is called as a cation

When an ion is negatively charged it is called as an anion.

Salt is formed when an acid reacts with a base.

The cation of the base combines with the anion of the acid to form the salt.

$Acid+Base>Salt+water

HCl is acid and NaOH is a base forms salt NaCl and water.

Cl^- is an anion of the acid and Na^+ is the cation of the base combines to form NaCl salt .

H^+and OH^- combines to form H_2 O
