Answer:

a. The income inequality ratio in Mill Town is 14.06%.

b. The income inequality ratio in Pasture Town is 11.77%

c. Mill Town therefore has the more unequal distribution of income

Explanation:

Note: Kindly see the attached file for the calculation of the standard deviation and the mean.

The income equality can be determined using the Coefficient of variation (CV) for stated as follows:

IE = SD ÷ Mean ........................................... (1)

Where,

IE = Income inequality

SD = Standard deviation

In more equal societies, IE will be smaller.

We can therefore proceed as follows:

a. What is the income inequality ratio in Mill Town?

SD = 8,857

Mean = 63,000

IE = 8,857 ÷ 63,000  = 0.1406, or 14.06%

b. What is the income inequality ratio in Pasture Town?

SD = 8,353

Mean = 71,000

IE = 8,353 ÷ 71,000  = 0.1177, or 11.77%

c. Which community has the more unequal distribution of income?

Since the 14.06% income inequality ratio of Mill Town is higher than 11.77%  income inequality of Pasture Town, Mill Town therefore has the more unequal distribution of income.

Irina-Kira [14]

Answer:

$17,000 Favorable

Explanation:

Provided information, we have

Standard hours for each unit = 0.8 hours

Standard Rate per hour = $34

Actual quantity produced = 7,650 units

Actual labor hours used = 5,620

Actual rate per hour = $118,020/5,620 = $21 per hour

Standard hours for Actual output = 7,650 \times 0.8 = 6,120 hours

Labor Efficiency Variance = (Standard Hours - Actual Hours) \times Standard labor rate per hour

= (6,120 - 5,620) \times $34

= $17,000 Favorable

As the amount is positive and actual hours used is less than standard hours the variance is favorable.

When the price of good A is $50, the quantity demanded of good A is 500 units. When the price of good A rises to $70, the quanti
olga55 [171]

Answer: The price elasticity of demand for good A is 0.67, and an increase in price will result in a increase in total revenue for good A

Explanation:

The following can be deduced form the question:

P1 = $50

P2 = $70

Q1 = 500 units

Q2 = 400 units

Percentage change in quantity = [Q2 - Q1 / (Q2 + Q1) ÷ 2 ] × 100

Percentage change in price = [P2 - P1 / (P2 + P1) ÷ 2 ] × 100

% change in quantity = (400 - 500)/(400 + 500)/2 × 100

= -100/450 × 100

= -22.22%

% change on price = (70 - 50)/(70 + 50)/2 × 100

= 20/60 × 100

= 33

Price elasticity of demand = % change in quantity / % change on price

= -22.22 / 33

= -0.67

This means that a 1% change in price will lead to a 0.67% change in quantity demanded. As there was a price change, there'll be a little change in quantity demanded because demand is inelastic. Thereby, he increase in price will lead to an increase in the total revenue.

Therefore, the price elasticity of demand for good A is 0.67, and an increase in price will result in an increase in total revenue for good A

               =  $60,575

2. Liabilities = Liabilities balance + employees wages earned

                    = $20,000 + $410

                    = $20,410

3.  Stockholders' Equity = Equity balance - depreciation + service revenue - employees wages earned

                                        = $40,000 - $925 + $1,500 - $410

                                        = $40,165

4.  Net Income = Net income balance - depreciation + service revenue - employees wages

                        = $9,000 - $925 + $1,500 - $410

                        = $9,165

Schach [20]
