How does the nervous system and the respiratory system work together?

Breathing is an automatic and rhythmic act produced by networks of neurons in the hindbrain (the pons and medulla). The neural networks direct muscles that form the walls of the thorax and abdomen and produce pressure gradients that move air into and out of the lungs.

If one drop is 3 ml, how many liters is one drop? (3 points)
Daniel [21]
Given,

3ml = 1 drop
1 ml = 1/3 drop
1000ml = 1x1000/3 drops
1 Litre = 1000/3 drop
1 drop = 3/1000 litre
1 drop = 0.003 litre

Hence, the correct answer is option B.

31. The Richter Scale is a logarithmic scale, meaning the numbers on it increase by a factor of
AlexFokin [52]

10

Explanation:

The Ritcher scale is a logarithmic scale and it suggests that the number increases by a factor of 10.

One point on the scale differs from another by an order of 10.

 • The Ritcher scale is used to measure the magnitude of earthquakes in a particular area.
 • It is graduated form 1 to 10
 • The magnitude of the quake increases as one moves from 1 through 10.
 • This is because the magnitude of the quake actually increases by an order of 10.

The chart below shows the three main types of plant tissues and associated tissues. mc003-1.jpg Which row (A, B, C, or D) best c
katrin [286]
I found the exercise on the internet. Attached is the chart and the rows. On the left we have "plant tissue", then on the middle top - "dermal" - and just below - "ground". Straight in front of "ground", the term is "collenchyma".

The correct row would be D.
1. is vascular because that's the other type of plant tissue besides the ones that are already present in the chart.
2. and 3. - sclerenchyma and parenchyma - are indeed types of ground tissues next to collenchyma.
4. and 5. - xylem and phloem - are the types of tissues present in vascular plants, they work as vessels where water and nutrients are conducted.

Can a protein that is not part of the cell membrane diffuse through the membrane? If not, why?
Katyanochek1 [597]

Answer:

Solutes dissolved in water on either side of the cell membrane will tend to diffuse down their concentration gradients, but because most substances cannot pass freely through the lipid bilayer of the cell membrane, their movement is restricted to protein channels and specialized transport mechanisms in the membrane. Although ions and most polar molecules cannot diffuse across a lipid bilayer, many such molecules (such as glucose) are able to cross cell membranes. ... Channel proteins form open pores through the membrane, allowing the free passage of any molecule of the appropriate size.t is the proteins, therefore, that give each type of membrane in the cell its ... Many extend through the lipid bilayer, with part of their mass on either side ..... Many hydrophobic membrane proteins can be solubilized and then purified in an active, if not entirely ..... Many Membrane Proteins Diffuse in the Plane of the Membrane.

hope this helps :)
