In the table on the right, observe Krakauer's formula for benefit to dominant male. What is the benefit, B? calculate the value

and enter it in the table.
Based on this assumption, what is C, the Cost to subordinate male? Calculate the value and enter it in the table.

Given the values you've just calculated, what is the Net Benefit subordinate males can expect from helping the dominant male? That is, what is their inclusive fitness?

The table is an illustration of two-way table, and the value of the cost to net benefit to subordinate male is 0.1

The value of the benefit

From the table, the Krakauer's formula for benefit (B) is:

B = Offspring per dominant male - Offspring per solo male

The question has missing parameters, so we make use of the following assumed values:

 • Offspring per dominant male = 7
 • Offspring per solo male = 2

So, we have:

B = 7 - 2

B = 5

Using the assumed values, the value of the benefit is 5

The cost to subordinate male

The Krakauer's formula for cost (C) is:

C = Offspring per solo male - Offspring per subordinate male

Given that subordinate male never reproduce, the equation becomes

C = Offspring per solo male - 0

C = Offspring per solo male

Using the assumed value in (a), we have:

C = 2

Using the assumed values, the value of the cost to subordinate male is 2

The net benefit to subordinate male

The Krakauer's formula for this is:

Net Benefit = rB - C

Given that r = 0.42, the equation becomes

Net Benefit = 0.42 * 5 - 2

Evaluate

Net Benefit = 0.1

Using the assumed values, the value of the cost to net benefit to subordinate male is 0.1

1) Plant and animal cells are both categorized the same as prokaryotes or eukaryotes based on the presence of a particular membrane-bound organelle – the nucleus, bounded by the nuclear membrane.

Explanation:

Prokaryotic cells are distinctive by the lack of a definitive nuclear structure or nucleus. Eukaryotic cells have a definitive nucleus with a nucleolus and DNA strands and stores the genetic information or the genes which are encased inside the nuclear envelope or membrane. Prokaryotic cells have their DNA in their cytoplasm since they lack a nucleus.

2) The organelles/structures that are found only within plant cells are chloroplasts and central vacuole.

Chloroplasts are exclusively found only in plants. The chloroplasts contain the chlorophyll, the green pigment which helps the plants to absorb solar or light energy trapped from the sun to carry out photosynthesis.

The central vacuole, the largest organelle, membrane-enclosed sac filled with fluid called cell sap. The central vacuole provides basic support and structure, maintain cell pressure, store reserve food and waste materials, and contains enzymes which aid various cellular activities.

2. Suppose that you and 19 of your classmates (giving a final population of 10 males and 10 females) are on a cruise, and your s
Trava [24]

Answer:

0.25%

Explanation:

20 people start the new population. So there are 20 genes or 40 alleles for the recessive disorder phenylketonuria. 2 out of 40 alleles are recessive for the condition hence frequency of the allele = 2/40 = 0.05

Frequency of the allele does not change when the population increases so it is in Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium. According to it, if q is the frequency of recessive allele, q² = frequency of the recessive condition

Here, q = 0.05 So,

q² = (0.05)² = 0.0025

In percentage, it is 100 * 0.0025 = 0.25%

Hence, incidence of phenylketonuria in the new population is 0.25%

Why is it protective for the crayfish to have its nerve cord on the bottom of its body?
mr Goodwill [35]
The crayfish have its nerve cord on the ventral side rather than on the dorsal side. The ventral side is under the Crayfishes' exoskeleton, as opposed to the dorsal side where the exoskeleton is . If it is attacked it will be from the dorsal side and the nerve cord would be snapped easier. The function of the nerve cord is that if it gets attacked by a predator they will go for the top and it will still be able to move.
