Step-by-step explanation:

So, we can find the points to graph by looking at the table. The left column is where we find our x-values and the right column is where we find the y-values. We get the points (1, 3), (3, 9), (5, 15), and (6, 18). I added a picture showing where to plot these and hope it helps!!

If p(x) = x²+x+6 and q (x)=3x-1 find q ( 1/4)
erma4kov [3.2K]

Answer is -1/4

Work Shown:

q(x) = 3x - 1

q(1/4) = 3(1/4) - 1 ... replace x with 1/4

q(1/4) = 3/4 - 1

q(1/4) = 3/4 - 4/4 ... rewrite 1 as 4/4

q(1/4) = (3-4)/4

q(1/4) = -1/4

The p(x) function is never used.

If the triangle shown is translated vertically 3 units and horizontally -4 units graph the image of the triangle
Romashka [77]
Okay so you need to write down all of your original points, for example:
<A (1,1)
<B (3,4)
<C (5,1)
so now for each of those coordinates you would subtract four from each X and add 3 to each Y. For example:
Original Cord.: Translated Cord.:
<A (1,1) <A' (-3,4)
<B (3,4) <B' (-1,6)
<C (5,1) <C' (2, 4)
------------------------------------------------------------------------
So just follow my steps but with your points, then graph both the original coordinates and the translated coordinates. AND DON'T FORGET TO LABEL THE POINTS LIKE I DID WHEN GRAPHING!!!!!!!!
