PLEASE HELP!

Hello from MrBillDoesMath!

Answer:

x = 30

Discussion:

Note: I ignored the * in f*(x)  as i don't know what it means. (If this is not what you intended, please indicate what * means)

f(x) = 2 sqrt(x-5) + 4

f(x) = 14

=>

14 = 2 sqrt(x-5) + 4             => subtract 4 from both sides

14 -4 = 2 sqrt(x-5)               => divide both sides by 2

10/2 = sqrt(x-5)                   =>

5 = sqrt(x-5)                        => square both sides

5*5 = x-5                              => add 5 to both sides

5*5 + 5  = x

25 + 5 = x

x = 30

Thank you,

MrB

Sunni’s bedroom has the dimensions of 11 ft by 10 ft by 10 ft. Her den has the same height but double the volume. Give two sets
otez555 [7]

The volume of the bedroom is  11 x 10 x 10 = 1100 cubic feet.

The volume of the den is double, so 1100 x 2 = 2200 cubic feet.

Divide the volume of the den by the height, since it is the same as the bedroom, this will give you the area:

2200 / 10 = 220 square feet.

Two sets of numbers that could equal 220 are 22 x 10 or 22 x 11

The room can be 20 ft by 10 ft or 22 ft by 11 ft and the volume is 2200 cubic feet.

Explain two ways to simplify 6/12
Dmitriy789 [7]
<span>This is a PROPER FRACTION once the absolute value of the top number or numerator (6) is smaller than the absolute value of the bottom number or denomintor (12).

So the fraction 6/12 is equivalent to 1/2, and in decimal form its 0.5.
