Answer: 0, π, 2π

Nevertheless, that is not an option. I see two possibilities: 1) the options are misswirtten, 2) the domain is not well defined.

If the domain were 0 ≤ θ < 2π, then 2π were excluded of the domain ant the answer would be 0, π.

Explanation:

1) The first solution, θ = 0 is trivial:

sin (0) - tan (0) = 0

0 - 0 = 0

2) For other solutions, work the expression:

sin(θ) + tan (-θ) = 0 ← given

sin (θ) - tan(θ) = 0 ← tan (-θ) = tan(θ)

sin(θ) - sin (θ) / cos(θ) = 0 ← tan(θ) = sin(θ) / cos(θ)

sin (θ) [1 - 1/cos(θ)] = 0 ← common factor sin(θ)

⇒ Any of the two factors can be 0

⇒ sin (θ) = 0 or (1 - 1 / cos(θ) = 0,

sin(θ) = 0 ⇒ θ = 0, π, 2π

1 - 1/cos(θ) = 0 ⇒ 1/cos(θ) = 1 ⇒ cos(θ) = 1 ⇒ θ = 0, 2π

⇒ Solutions are 0, π, and 2π

In fact if you test with any of those values the equation is checked. The only way to exclude one of those solutions is changing the domain.

Maurinko [17]

Answer:

He should leave by 10:30 a.m

Step-by-step explanation:

If he drives 60 miles per hr it will take him 270÷60=4.5 (4 n half) hrs to reach there.

If he want to be there at 3p.m he should leave by 10:30 a.m

gogolik [260]

The fraction \frac{3}{5} and \frac{2}{3} are the greatest in each combination.

Explanation:

Comparing the fraction \frac{1}{2} with \frac{1}{3} and \frac{3}{5} to find the greatest value.

The fraction \frac{1}{2}>\frac{1}{3} and \frac{1}{2}

Thus, \frac{1}{3}

Hence, \frac{3}{5} is the greatest value in this combination.

Also, Comparing the fraction \frac{1}{2} with \frac{3}{7} and \frac{2}{3} to find the greatest value.

The fraction \frac{1}{2}>\frac{3}{7} and \frac{1}{2}

Thus, \frac{3}{7}

Hence, \frac{2}{3} is the greatest value in this combination.

Landon is standing in a hole that is 5.1 ft deep. He throws a rock, and it goes up into the air, out of the hole, and then lands
kati45 [8]
This describes a parabolic path that starts at x=0 on a value of y = -5.1.  That's when the rock is below ground in the hole.  To find the answer we need to know the second x axis crossing.  The first is when it is rising and reaches ground level, the second is after it peaks and falls back to the ground and lands. Using the quadratic formula I get the two zeros of this function to be about
x= 15.29, and 66.71.  The rock then lands 66.71 feet from him horizontally.
